                    Innovative work is defined as "the process of making changes to something established by introducing something new ". Innovative work helps the teacher to teach a lesson easily. The role of innovative work is very important in English language teaching. Inorder to teach a  lesson effectively, the teacher must use a lot of pictures, games and models. In teaching learning process the role of innovative work is very important. It makes class interesting. Innovative work is one of the effective method for teaching a difficult lesson easily.
                     As  part of teaching practice  Section I opted an innovative work based on the first unit of 9th standard course book. The topic selected for the innovative of is idioms. Idioms is a type of figure of speech and I choose  this topic because I felt that it is very important for the students to have a knowledge of it. Among figures of speech most of the students are less familiar with the term idioms.  I want my students to have it thorough  knowledge in it because in most of the competitive exam idioms will be there for 2 or 3 marks. So to teach idioms I made a book of idioms that include almost all the commonly used idioms and I also made an activity card and Crossword puzzle.  I made book attractive by adding suitable pictures and examples . Crossword Puzzle is one of the best way to learn new words and their meanings. In order to increase the vocabulary of the students I select crossword puzzle game based on idioms .
                      Through the book and Crossword Puzzle pupils can understand the different meaning of different idioms. It is interesting and help the teacher to capture the attention of the students. Apart from teaching idioms through normal classroom procedure it can be taught by using crossword puzzles and activity cards. I felt  like it is very useful and effective method for teaching something very difficult. It aroused the curiosity, interest and attention of the students to the subject matter. They learned about the idioms and was also became capable of using idioms in communication.
